My friend has been experiencing some strange rash on her face. At the end, it appears she has lupus. I always considered lupus to be linked to kidneys and joints. I had no idea it has effect on the skin. Does this happen always? Are there forms that do not affect skin? I hope someone will answer me.

Hi. Lupus can affect skin. In fact, there is a form called discoid lupus which affects skin only. Usual localisation is face, scalp and earlobes. In smaller percentage, it can develop some other forms. It usually can have some kidney or joint manifestation. Lupus can also affect brain. People usually neglect these neurological symptoms. I hope this helps. Bye!
