I am an 83-year-old man. Two years ago I went to a local emergency clinic with bronchitis and was given an antibiotic by the doctor. A couple of days later I had a severe case of diverticulitis. I have had diverticulosis for about 15 to 20 years. I went to my primary physician and she hospitalized me. I was dehydtrated and as a result had some kidney damage. The day before I was released, I had an erection and masturbated. When I went to my doctor for check up, my right testicle was severely swollen and sore. She sent me for a sonogram. I do not recall that I was given a diagnosis; but with time I was o.k..A year later, I awakened in the night with severe pain in my scrotum. I had a high fever and chills. Early the next morning, I told my wife that I needed to go to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with epididymitis in my left side. I spent 6 days in the hospital on intravenous antibiotics. While in the hospital, they discovered that my bladder was not emptying properly. I went home with a bladder bag and was later put on a catheter. The epididymitis eventually cleared up. Recently, I have noticed clots of blood in my urine on occassion. After analyzing, I have determined that this is after having an orgasm. I had prostate surgery in 1991 and after the surgery, I never had an ejaculation. I was told that my semen went into my bladder. Now, I am wondering if I may have cancer of the testicles or of the prostate.
