My son has a bladder infection we were at the doctors yesterday morning for that, the school called in the afternoon because he had blood in the urine, my doctor was closed in the afternoon, so I took him to the hospital, they did say there was blood in the urine along with a few white blood cells (I don't know what that would mean). They did confirm the bladder infection and gave him some medication and he is being sent for an ultrasound for his kidneys and bladder.

My question is someone has scared me saying that is one thing you don't want is blood in the urine. Why is that? Is there many different reason why there would be blood in the urine?
