I was put on a stronger birth control when my 12 month old done switched from breast milk to cows milk. I bled almost 2 months straight while on the new birth control and finally had enough of the blood, cramps and fatigue. I stopped taking the birth control about a month and a half ago and have not bled nor spotted at ALL. My husband and I do have sex without and type of contraceptive. Recently I've been expecting my period to come any time and it is still not here. My husband keeps asking if I am pregnant because of my mood swings and fatigue. I have been questioning it as well and I've taken 3 tests in the last 2 weeks and they have all come back negative. A few days ago I had severe abdominal cramping and had to stay laying down.. I've been reading a lot online ( crazy..) and read about ectopic pregnancies. I am planning to get a blood test done at the clinic after the holiday tomorrow but now after ready about the ectopic pregnancy possibility, I thought id try to see if anyone has any suggestions/ thoughts on what has been going on.

Hi Nervous,

Coming off of the birth control it can take some time for your period to return to normal as your hormone levels return to normal.  It can contribute to your mood swings and make you tired. .

False negative pregnancy test results are very common.  The tests are really only accurate when reading positive.  They "default" to negative.  You MUST use your first morning urine when using a urine test.

An ectopic pregnancy will still test positive.
