Hello there....I think I posted this somewhere else by accident. If so I apologize!!!
Starting on Friday of this past weekend, I feel like I'm salivating more....My period is now due in 2 days. I took a pregnancy test and negative (don't see how pregnancy is possible since I'm on the pill - I know the slim chances, no need for that lesson :-) ) At some points I then feel like my mouth is going dry. Is this all in my head? Do most woman have more saliva before their periods? Do most woman have it when pregnant? I'm so nervous, because I'm banking on not pregnant at this time. Anyone that can offer some sound advice...I would appreciate it. I have to admit, now I'm freaking out :'(

Barring illness, excessive salivation is sometimes a product of habit caused either by constant eating which may leave the saliva glands constantly "on" or mild allergic reactions leading to runny nose, teary eyes and unfortunately runny saliva glands. Increased pollution especially in industrial and city environments is often a big culprit.
Suggested Solution. Anti-histamines could be effective if you can't stomach air pollution. If that doesn't work, you may have to retrain you saliva glands: reduce your feeding times to 2 ocassions per day with as much as an 8 hour break of staying off food or drinks. Chew bitter kola during the break for better results - it reduces salivation.
