My husband had a heart surgery last year. He was advised to do exercises which will improve the strength of his heart. But now he is faced with a problem. His fitness level, of course is not like it was. He was athlete in high school. He feels light pain in the heart area when he exercises. Do you have any suggestions about his problem?

He probably did not pay attention when he was advised. Exercise program after a heart surgery is not something you can do by yourself. You must have help of professional staff like doctors, nurses, exercise psychologist, psychologists and dietitians. In cooperation with them you can chose your cardiac rehabilitation program and it have to be monitored all the way. Now, he should go to the doctor and to describe him his pain and ask him an advice about rehabilitation.
