Five months ago I went in for surgery on my left ear ear. While recovering I have had a clear ear discharge on several occation. Also an occational annoying itch deap inside the ear? i have had the discharge checked via a swab at Patholagy and it came up as nothing bacterial? My local doctor is lost for a reason and my specialist keeps perscibing me 'Ciproxin' ear drops. These have not worked and I have developed an allergic reaction to them causing a bad rash around my outer ear.??

Obviously there is something going on that is clearly not an expected symptom of the recovery process. I wonder why the doctor has not changed your prescription. Has he/she said why? Considering that you have had surgery, consult with another surgeon that has a positive reputation for work in your area of concern. Please let us know what you find out and how you are doing.
