I have 100% Retrograde as well and a little bit of urine sometimes ejects instead but that's not a problem. There is no loss of sensation during orgasm.

I have consistent R.E. So what? It feels the same, only no semen comes out. It is a meaningless problem for me at nearly 70 years of age.

Hello Whistle 1 I had the procedure about 4 years ago. With Dr Lingeman. I refrained from Sexual activity for 4-5 weeks.after surgery.I did ejaculate some the first time but after that it was retrograde. I considered my first orgasm to be more of a medical issue. When I had my biopsy I was instructed by my Dr to wait about 4-5 days and ejaculate to clear out the blood in the prostate. I considered that a medical issue as well. Both were self induced. I did not know what to expect as far as pain and blood , so I did not want to concern my wife with the possibility of hurting me. I was really not an issue. It is not that big of a difference at all. I believe any anxiety about it is mostly in your mind. In fact I believe the intensity may have increased some. I know my erections improved after surgery. My wife is not troubled at all by it. If you have a good wife as I do , concentrate on HER and not your prostate , You will be fine. Just Me

I would like to hear more of your experience. I had Holep at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix 2 months ago, was progressing reasonably well until last week when symptoms of pre-surgery prostatitis returned. Burning, stinging, constant urge to urinate. Very depressing outcome. I fear having to go back on antibiotics as they played havoc with my digestion. But I don't know what other options I have to deal with this.

Getting very eager for March 9 to arrive. Dr. Lingeman comes highly recommended and I have no fear of proceeding. Will try to keep you up to date on the surgery and my progress. We have booked an extra night in Indy just to make sure we are ready to make the return trip by car to Ohio. The hospital has a concierge service and offered suggestions for hotels near the hospital. They have a shuttle service so that my wife will not have to drive at all while there. What more could you ask for. At this point I figure my job is to practice my kegels to make my recovery more successful.

Will post progress from the surgery. Keep me in your thoughts and I will do the same for you.

I am hopeful that I finally have this site figured out and that this will post properly.

Hello Gideon Shyrock, I had surgery about 4 years ago In Indy with Dr Lingeman. He is a very compassionate man. You have a great surgeon. My wife stayed with me in my room over night after the surgery. We were very well cared for. There is also a hotel attached to Methodist hospital called Methodist Towers . That may be an option for you . Al the best . I will pray for you. Just me

The Methodist Towers is no longer an option, but there are several hotels for which they provide a concierge service, including transportation to and from the hospital. I will keep you updated on my progress and thanks for your prayers. Two weeks and counting.

Questions. About how many pads are sent home with you from the hospital? Also, what kind of pads did you buy? It seems there are many brands and not all are recommended. Thanks for your input.

I did not get sent home with any pads. I used the "guard" style for several months before switching to the much thinner "shield". I used the Kroger brand guard. I have only been able to find the shield in the Depends brand. My surgery was just over a year ago. If you are incontinent be patient; for me and some others it was about a 5 month process to heal. I outlined my recovery in previous posts. Praying for a successful surgery for you. Big500

They Tena guards are much superior to the Depends guards. The depends guards are never where they belong, and the Tena always remains where it needs to be.

I agree, Tena are the best. They are wider, and thinner. They may be hard to find ,but Walgreens can order them and ship them to the store where you can pick them up . No shipping fee! I was given a very large pad and a few replacements when I went home. They worked very well. check with Dr Lingeman`s nurse to make sure they still provide them . You will probably need some.

You can purchase a case of Tena guards on Amazon for about $43 with free shipping.

Thanks to you all for suggestions. I have talked with Dr. Lingeman's nurse and they do send a few home with you. I have purchased one package of Krogers and one of Depends. Will give them a try.

Wednesday is the day! I am awaiting it with much enthusiasm. Please keep me in your thoughts.

I will keep all up to date on progress.
