i finally got my period after not having it for over 5 and a half months. i am due to go back may 27th for a check up..but since i got this period thursday doesnt seem like it will end..i dont ever get a period this long being on the pill..though i am on a different kind this time. instead of ortho tri cylan lo its ortho tri cylan regular..and this period gets all heavy and clotting.. but last two-three days its as if its pink to nothing then just when i think it's going to end it starts back up again. my finance and i also tried doing something where we did it in the shower. and have twice since thursday. is it really true u can get pregnant on the pill? ( sorry dont mean to gross anyone out)

If you have been taking your pill regularly each day, no matter the change in the type of pill, you should definitely be protected from pregnancy. Its only when you skip the pills or dont take them within the same time each day that your chances of getting pregnant rise, but, since you have been on the pill for a longer period of time, chances are that your ovulation simply didn't happen for all the time you were on the pill.

i stopped taking the pill. i only took the sunday and monday one from the new pack but i want to stop. since i had a problem before of not being on the pill; because before i was on the pill for 3 yrs and missed it a lot & never took it the same. then like i said above. stopped taking it and then only took it from feb 27 to march 28..is there any possible way that i could possibly become pregnant? i did get my period finally had it a little bit longer than i usually do but then its a different dose of pill than i was taking before. and i missed the pill 4 times last month though i still got my period. lately not every day i been getting some sharp pains around my waist and pains around my ribs or in front of my stomach. i figured that i will be due for another period by april 21st. but i am going to get a pregnancy test by april 18th. do you think this is something i should do or should i not bother?
