I sooo understand this. I went back to work today and can smell myself and just know others could smell it too.

Agreed with all comments, I am most upset that I was not made aware of any of these symtomes by my Doctor. Just "you may have spotting after the procedure." Why don't they tell us about this ahead of time?
I hate doctors.

I totally agree that we should have been told. I work in healthcare and would have never freaked out by the discharge or smell had I known. I would have made other arrangements for work because I KNOW my patients can smell me! I'm so embarrassed and self conscious.

Completely agree! Oh that's normal, so why didn't you tell me and save this freak out moment for something in need of freaking out! I hate doctors and especially hate my current gynecologist!

Ahh! Im dealing with this right now! Had a LEEP a week ago and now the black stuff. this smell is FOUL. It litterally smells like my 1.5 yr olds dirty diapers.. before i realized what was smelling i kept checking my sons diaper. Even my 4 yr old keeps saying something smells rotten.... soooo beyond embarassing. Just talked to my doctor and he perscribed some cream so hopefully that helps some. Just relieved this a common reaction. Never in my life have i experienced a smell like this with my own body. Bleh

I just had it done Nov. 14 and I've been spitting ever since and the watery discharge started a day later and i feel like I'm peeing myself. I've been wearing pads for a week. Yesterday the grey discharge with the black specs started. Today the smell has started. Omg! It smells like poop!! So embarrassing! I deliver mail and thought it was a package. I just want to hide because if I can smell it I know others can too. I hope it goes away ASAP. I keep cleaning myself and changing but it doesn't make a difference.

I have kids too, my daughter told me I smelled like dirty diapers! How embarrassing. I feel like EVERYONE can smell it! I wash 2x use feminine hygiene wash too and change my pads sometimes even the under wear 2x a day . I just feel dirty

I just had the cold knife cone procedure 4 weeks ago. And I got my period yesterday and this blackish grey foul smelling stuff is coming out of my vagina, I told the doctor and she said it’s normal. I don’t believe her this is not normal to me and I’m worried It might be something wrong up there. Has anyone else experience this?

It is normal to have some mild cramping, spotting, and dark or black-colored discharge for several days. The dark discharge is from the medicine applied to your cervix to control bleeding.

Hi everyone! I just had the LEEP procedure done one week ago and just in the last day, I have noticed a foul odor that I have never had before!! It is driving me crazy. I have somewhat Of a brownish discharge. My question is, how do you get rid of the odor? Is there something I can do to make it go away?

The black spots are normal if they look like coffee grounds as for the smell i have the same problem and I'm not sure how long the smell lasts hopefully it will go away real soon
