That's exactly what the doctor offered to do to fix my ganglion. "I can hit it with a book or you can just live with it" It came and went many times over 20 years but finally left home. I haven't seen it in about 30 years now. I once had a date to have it surgically removed and it went down the day before the appointment.

I've had a ganglion cyst for as long as I can remember. It's on the top of my hand , but mine has gotten hard and don't move.it's gone away come back etc thousands of times. I've had x-rays due to pain and it's attached to my bones in my hand. No way to remove without cutting it out . I wear a hand ease bandage when it acts up. But today I noticed my wrist bone is bigger than my other hand I'm wondering if it's stretching or growing along my bones.

I know you sent this message over a year ago but i can relate to this problem of yours. My daughter had the same problem years ago. I cant remember what it is called but I took an encyclopaedia book and hit it hard on the ball on the wrist. it is apparently a build up of salts that disperse if hit hard. She was in pain when I hit on it but only for a very short while. after that the lump disappeared completely. I have the same thing on my knee after a bad fall. The xrays show no problem with the bone yet the hard lump on my knee appears as though the bone is pushing out. My doctor has no idea what it is and therefore i am diagnosing that it is the same as the ball on my daughter's wrist.

I have the same thing. On my right hand it is a hard bump where my thumb meets my wrist but it doesnt hurt and hopefully doesnt start. Everyone keeps telling me to get it checked but im not that worried about it. Should I be? Im not sure how long it has been there, my husband noticed it.

I had the same thing right above my wrist. It felt like a bone protruding. I placed my hand on a table then with the palm of my other hand I hit the bump as hard as I could. It disappeared. My grandfather told me this would work and it did. Good luck
