I feel so badly to see everyone going through this.. I personally know the feeling of mentally torturing yourself for a dumb mistake you made years ago. I had hydrogel injections almost 6 years ago and even though I am so blessed I have not had problems, I still cannot put into words how much I regret doing it. It has led me to do so much research in the last 2 years and wanted to share some of my knowledge with everyone in hopes it could help others. First, if you have done any research, you will quickly notice how many surgeons are quick to respond with the no it cannot be removed. Many doctors will not take on these cases because the removal surgery is risky and carries high liability. On the bright side, however; there are qualified surgeons who do perform these surgeries often. To name a few as mentioned previously, Dr. Gallerini in Miami or Dr. Wilberto Cortés in Houston. Many of the surgeries are done by removing the injected substance and doing a BBL afterwards to minimize deformities. Now of course it all depends on the severity of your case. As far as price, the correction surgery ranges from $12,500 to $20,000. Again, depends on the severity. Almost always, the doctors will require you to get an MRI to see the location of the foreign material and exactly how much is where. This is a crucial key to planning a successful removal surgery. Personally, I have gone to several consultations for the removal surgery but all have told me to leave it alone since I'm not having issues. Of course I don't want to stir anything up or make it aggravated but mentally, I cannot deal with the fact I made the mistake. At one point, I beat myself up over it so bad, that I actually went for the MRI so I could proceed with getting it removed. Yup, the stuff is still there, 6 years later. i ended up not proceeding as the recovery would be lengthy and I can't miss that much work. I do plan on doing it at some point though. I hope anything I have shared helped someone out there. If you take anything away from my post, please know you are not alone. So many people are going through this fear, regret and pain with you. I am hoping together we can all combine our resources so everyone has the information they need to make informed decisions. God bless all!

Yes, I had a consultation with Dr. Cortés. He excises it (cuts it out) then does a BBL within the same procedure to minimize deformity. It was about 2 years ago I met with him so his procedure now could be different. If you are in Houston, there is also a surgeon named Paul Fortes, zip is 77024. I have never been there but had someone mention to me he had experience with the removal as well. Might be worth it to check it out. There is also a recommendation on a website I saw for a Dr. Todd Adams in Clear Lake. I called their office for a consultation but the receptionist told me he is not seeing patients with this problem. Again, this was 2 years ago, when I was still embarrassed to even really say what I had done to myself so he might be worth to check out as well. Hope this helps!
