Hormone changes can cause swelling in the vaginal area, but so can infections.
You need to be more specific. What do you mean by 'vagina'? Do you mean t he vagina itself, or other parts of your vulva? If so can you say which parts, and what they look like compared with previously?
The vaginal and vulvar tissues may change in shape and color depending on the time during their menstrual cycle. Sometimes there are changes in color, shape and size. Does your vagina or vulva appear swollen or larger, perhaps seeming thicker or enlarged.
Is it uncomfortable? There may be changes in lymphatic drainage or blood flow, causing puffiness and distention with discomfort and irritation
But it also may be associated with a some medical conditions, which if it does not clear up in a few days, or if there are other symptoms like itchiness, burning or discharge, I suggest a medical check up.
Glands near the vaginal opening could become blocked or swollen. Vigorous sexual activity could cause the vagina to swell. Underwear not properly rinsed, or certain soaps could cause irritation.
I hope this helps a bit

I'm glad it's gone. but keep a look out for the problem in case it recurs.
[I was more interested where exactly the swelling was - whether it was inside the vagina canal, at the vagina entrance or elsewhere on your vulva.]
Take care

It could be because your period is not far away, and that would be quite normal. But is that normal for you?

What is your normal cycle length? Is it regular? LMP was 24 April, but what were the dates for Jan, Feb & Mar?
Even with a typical regular 28-day cycle, you would expect 24 April period start to be followed by 22 May period start (not 24th). Variations of a few days are common.

So 22 days from 24th April is 16th May, so you are well within your range. So it looks like your period is on.
