Hi!!
I didn't have a Mirena - I had a Paraguard Copper-T IUD, but I will tell you that the first two periods after I had mine out, they were extremely heavy and clotty, but seemed to be a little shorter than they had been while the IUD was in place and I didn't seem to cramp nearly as bad during my AF. Now, the difference lies in the fact that yours was a hormonal implant that may have influenced your body to have lighter periods. I wouldn't worry about it - your periods are just returning to normal. The IUD prevents a lot of the larger clots that you may have seen from coming out as easily so they break down during your menstruation until they are small enough to pass the IUD and exit your cervix.
If it stays really heavy or you continue to be worried about it, just call your OB :-D
