Hello, I have been sexually active for four years now and just recently (last three weeks) have been experiencing burning during sex. It starts as soon as the tip of his penis goes in. I almost cry everytime. We have tried different positions and nothing seems to shake the pain.. We dont even continue. I found out last month that I have genital herpes.. and just began the pill last month... so please please help me! Thank you!

Unfortunately when you are experiencing breakouts from the herpes this WILL be VERY painful! :-( Hopefully your partner is wearing a condom! And the first thing that comes to mind is that your skin - being SO attacked right now - could not be handling the latex! So try a non latex condom! There is a cream called Emla which is used to numb the area! BUT you can't use this if you have any irritation or open soars! If you make an appointment with your gynecologist and ask hir/him to perscribe Vaginal Dialators! They are 7 sizes of wax vaginal inserts, they are usually used for women with Vaginismus! While you are having your appointment she/he can check out your vagina and labia to see if there are open soars and possibly perscribe a numbing cream for you! With the dialators you can put them in the freezer or warm water! The Freezer would REALLY help you with your particular concern - as they would take down the swellign and the pain of the sores! Also old fashioned rememdy is a tea bag soacked in cold water then put in the freezer, then rub that around your vagina and inside! The tanin in the tea help with inflamation! Due to your herpes I would NOT suggest douching as this can push the infection higher and past your cervix!!! Your main thing right now is to let the drugs do their job, and THEN try again with cooling technicques, non latex condoms, and in the mean time make an appointment with a gynecologist! Good luck and health!

Probably a reaction! ALSO IF you have had trauma there or pain in the past, your brain can really hinder you being "relaxed" so the dialators are there for YOU to help your brain and your body realize that this isn't a bad thing! Anything COOL will be the best for you! And use plenty of lubrication and ice away! Another thing is putting a tampon in Witch Hazel and water then freezing it - like a strange popsicle ;-) ! Then inserting it, also the same for a strong tea soaking the tampon then freezing it! Also tea icecubes! etc. etc. etc.! IF there is any discharge you can use probiotic yogurt - once again with a tampon!!! Hope these help!
