I am about to be married. My future husband has family history of hemochromatosis. But he had no symptoms of this disease. He is 33 years old. Is there a possibility that he develop the symptoms later? Also I would like to know will our children have problems with this disease.

Hemochromatosis is inherited disease. It is necessary for both parents to have genes for this disease, so that could develop in there children. Adultery kind of this disease gives symptoms in man between 30 and 50 years of their lives. In women symptoms may occur after 50. Therefore you and your future husband need to do some medical tests and find out are you gene carriers for hemochromatosis.
