Hi,

Newbie here..

I have been suffering with pain for about 1 year now but my GP has only recently diagnosed me with Sciatica. I have tried 4 different anti-inflammitory's, analgesia and now after my last visit to the GP he has prescribed a muscle relaxant... All of the meds I have tried are doing nothing and the pain persists, some days more painfull than others. In the past few days i have noticed that I have been getting a ' numb' feeling in my arms and also tingling sensation in my fingers. I just wanted to know do other sciatica sufferer's have same or similar symtoms? or should i return to my GP... although like many other people I feel that my GP fobs me off, so Iam reluctant to go back. The pain is so bad some days I just can't bear it..... any help/info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Brown, glad to have yo uon the forums! I'm sorry to hear that your sciatica is persisting. I have a sister who has this issue actually and unfortunately I don't know much of what to tell you. I know that if you are not getting much help from your doctor that you should consider going to a different one. Get a second opinion. It's a good idea, I think. What do you think about it?

Hey there, I'm new now too. :)
I have been dealing with sciatic pain on and off, it switches sides since winter of 2010. I slipped and fell on the hard tile stairs, really badly. Never went to hospital because I'm stupid and stubborn. I haven't been the same since. Horrible for the past 4 or 5 months on my right side. Numbing, tingling, just so tired of it. Wears a person down. Did you have an injury? Do you ice it? Seems to help but only temporarily. I don't have insurance either :(
