my doctor just gave me a script for hydrochlorite12.5 mg yesterday and i know it is for high blood pressure but he also said something about how it may help me take some of my weight off too?we were talking about alot of things and the subject got pushed aside but is this true and if it is how so?

Sounds like a diuretic. Diuretics work by causing kidneys to excrete more urine thus lowering the cardiac volume and thus reducing blood pressure. By extrapolation, one would possibly conclude that loosing excess water would reduce weight, as the doctor suggested. In reality your body will adjust to the excess water loss and you will not lose any weight.
