It probably isn't a great idea to be "putting things in there" that aren't designed to be put there. I certainly do NOT recommend using a sharpie marker or any other object that wasn't made for vaginal insertion. If you are experimenting with different objects and you find that something is causing pain... don't do it. You may actually cause injury and you might find yourself making an embarrasing trip to your local ER. There are several ways that a person can masturbate and it is different for each person. You just have to find what works for you. To answer your question of where the clitoris is located, it is a small amount of erectile tissue located just above the urethral meatus (the opening where you "pee").
