Good luck, it's a tough place to be in but you deserve better than it sounds like you're getting.

Arlene: I hate you! Phil: I hate you more! If hate were people, I'd be China!

I think I'd agree with that too. Me of little experience as I had only one serious relationship before my wife. She captured me then released me a year and a half later. We met at church where we were both in the same youth group. I was in the army and she was coming back from wherever she had been for the summer. All the girls were talking about expecting her to show up. I didn't know who she was but being in uniform kind of gave me away as being from the fort. I normally walked over to the bus depot to get back to the fort from Augusta GA. As we were ending our social hour this girl asked me if needed a ride back to the fort saying her father was coming to get her and they lived on the post. I accepted and we were riding in the back seat where we became quite friendly. That ride became a common ritual and soon we were dating. Her father offered to drive us in one Sunday morning and that's when I found out he was a Lt. Colonel. He had me drive his car and made sure I returned the gate guard's salute as we left the post. After that he loaned us his car for our dates until I went home at Christmas and brought mine back. We dated for another year plus when one night she asked me if I'd ever been shot out of the saddle. She explained that she had met someone else and wanted to date him instead. We were still in the same church group only she was with him for about 9 months until I got out of the army. She never introduced us. About a year ago I was searching obits in the Augusta Chronicle to see if any of the guys I worked with at the fort had died when I came across her father's obit which listed her with her married name of course. She apparently married the son of a colonel who lived across the street from them on the post. She had taken me over there to fix the colonel's TV once but the son wasn't there. She was honest with me about finding someone else when she broke up with me and I respected/admired her for that. Of course I was hurt but I wasn't mad at her. Looking back it's kind of funny because at the church social she saw what she wanted and she grabbed it. She owned me for nearly two years then found someone else.
