Hello. Systemic sclerosis is the disease that is related to connective tissue and collagen. Heredity is also important. Some relation to certain HLA antigens is noticed. The important happening is in systemic sclerosis is damage of blood vessels and collagen. As a result, there is an activation of fibroblasts. Skin and joints are mostly affected.
