I'm not talking about how long after the unprotected sex that gets you pregnant, but the rumor i heard is that you have to be without sex for 2 weeks before you can take a pregnancy test or the results will be skewed... is that correct? or is that myth?

It is not correct....it takes two weeks after the suspected unprotected intercourse for the pregnancy tests to spot hcg hormones levels and you don't have to refrain from having sex during these two weeks.

Hi,

No, it’s not completely true that the test results will be more inaccurate if you have sex after the unprotected intercourse you suspect might have led to pregnancy. Especially if you use protection after that, so you eliminate the possibility of getting pregnant from this later intercourse. Bit complicated, but, it does take two weeks fir the hcg hormone levels to be detectable by home pregnancy test.

Still, if you have unprotected sex during this time, you have some chance of getting pregnant than and the first two weeks don’t make any more sense to count from, so that is why people usually say “take the test two weeks after the last unprotected sex”, or simply take the test when your period is already late. That seems like the easiest and most reliable way,
