Hello, I am having some problems here. Actually, I have to meet my girlfriend’s parents for the first time and she told me that her grandfather is living with them and that he is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. How am I supposed to act in the company of someone with that condition? Totally clueless here…

You have to know that Alzheimer’s disease is far from a mild condition and that it is a brave thing for a family to take care of a patient like that in home. Then again, if the disease is in its first stages, then I guess you can have a completely normal conversation. If not, well I don’t think he will be spending the entire evening with all of you.
