I am 44 years old and I would like to know about the risks regarding Alzheimer’s disease. My father has died at the age of 77 after years of suffering from that condition and I am trying to prevent the same thing happening to me. Is high LDL cholesterol a risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease?

It is and if you really want to avoid that, you should decrease that LDL level. It is one of the risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease so I guess you know what you have to do. And I am sorry for what happened to your father, Alzheimer’s truly is a condition that not only harms the patient but can also put a lot of strain on the family members.
