i have a 8 year old son who i think might well have tourettes syndrome as since he was aproxamatly a year old has been showing syptoms like head jerking to start with now its eye twiching,shoulder shrugging, facial grimacing and hands jerkinghe also makes funny noices repeatedly even though they are not words. he is also dyslexia
i wanted to know if anyone knows how to go about getting him diagionsed if this is what he is suffering from as i think more is known about it in diffrent countrys not here in hampshire, england

I completely agree with Dr Alan. There is no other way to be sure what is wrong with your child especially when something like Tourette syndrome is in question than to take him to the doctor.
From the symptoms you have described it seems that your son is really suffering from Tourette syndrome because most common symptoms are twitching and even all the symptoms you have described can be included.
As far as the treatment is considered you will have to see with your doctor. Encourage yourself with patience and brave heart and see what you can do for your son. I hope that you will have some success in this and good luck with all.
