My son has had problems with leg twitching since he was born. Shortly after being born the nurse noticed a twitch in his left leg. This continued to happen just in the left leg until about a year ago at which time I noticed that it was starting to appear in the right leg as well. A few months ago it started in his right hand/arm. Dr sent him to a specialist who diagnosed him with hyperreflixa that is gerneralized and diplegia. Neurologist order a EEG and MRI. We are waiting for results. He is also complaining of headaches in the back of his head on the right side (for about 3 weeks now off and on). The pain is located where he has a gland that has been swollen for 3 1/2 years (first appeared during a cold at 6 months old and never went down). Twitching comes and goes. Stress seems to bring them on but he also has them in his sleep. He has horrible night terrors, sleepwalks and kicks and pulls hair and has bit me before in his sleep. He has horrible mood swings and is hard to wakeup. He is very sensitive. He can't stand for his ears to be touched or head. He has to rub someones eyebrows several times a day to feel calm. He is picky about food and will not eat a cookie (or anything) if it is broken. He has a short attention span (shorter than normal for his age group). I am in search of anyone who might have any advice or any experience with similar situations. Developmentally he has always been on target. He was pottytrained at 3 years old. He now attends preschool part-time and seems to be finally adjusting to the change.
