i had unprotected sex but i got my peroid 5 days later. i know there is a chance i could be pregnant. i was wondering when it would be best, without being too early, that i could take a test and get an accureat result?

You don't need to test. If your period is "normal" for you, you are not pregnant.
It's VERY unlikely that you'd get pregnant having sex from about 10 days or so BEFORE your period start date. By that time, you've already ovulated and the egg is no longer viable.
If your period is different, wait at least two weeks and then use your wake up pee.
