I feel the exact same way. Every time I get my period, I love the way it smells but everyone else says it smells disgusting (theirs) and I'm like "okay, let's not share my own info"

Banana! That's what it smells like! I could not pinpoint the familiar smell for years...until now...all I knew was, yes, mine smells sweet-ish too. Ugh but trust me some people do smell like fish...once in class, this ghetto girl was spinning around in her chair in front of me...I wanted to throw up at the smell, and even the guy behind me could smell it. I really hope he didn't think it was me, because I smell the opposite and kinda feel proud of it deep down inside, lol.

I wonder the same thing. Mine smells absurdly good too. It's quite enticing, as weird as that sounds... But it's true, even I can't believe it actually. Whenever others complain about fishy odour, I can't relate.

I find that my period smells really good too sometimes. I think it has something to do with all the hormones included in the blood.

It smells amazing, and it's odd to me why so many find this sense of certain smell to be intoxicating. Is it cause it's our own? Kinda like how pheromones work, since we produce it, we enjoy it? Could this be based on what we eat while on our periods?
Do you ladies drink a lot of wine? Or eat sweet items? I want to say this is linked to what we take in.

Mine has either had no odor or smells like some type of vanilla or birthday cake scent. Whenever I get any of the older, brown blood in my period, or the really light pink, it has no odor. The pleasant scent usually comes with the deep red blood, which I used to get on every cycle before I started birth control.

he vaginal mucus changes in consistency during a cycle, which also causes a change in its pH. This change in the acidity of the mucus also changes its smell and taste.
Normally, your hormones ramp up, and then your period starts. (Think of it as the rumbling that happens just before a volcano explodes. Lol) The mucus is thin/watery before your period starts to make it easier for a male's "li'l swimmers" (haha) to get to where they need to go... it's nature's way of helping the impregnation/implantation process. Then as you shift towards the middle and end of your cycle, the smell may change to a less appealing smell (tart) and the mucus will thicken or change in consistency. Usually the smell is faint or even nonexistent, as long as you're changing your pads/tampons often and you're keeping it clean down there.
Now if your menstrual blood smells sweet during your period, it means that the pH/mucus change is occurring at the same time as your period instead of before your period, and so your blood gets "scented" by this change and is essentially bringing out the smell, making it more noticeable than usual. Your hormones have "caught up" or synced with the timing of your cycle. The smell will probably be more tart-like (possibly even a bit vinegary) as your cycle reaches its end.
You're not weird for smelling your blood. If anything, it's one way to detect changes within your body that may be a cause for concern. If it smells fishy or itches, you could have vaginitis. If it smells foul & looks like cottage cheese bits are down there (and you're sure it isn't toilet paper), you probably have a yeast infection. What I'm saying is that if at any point, your blood smells different than your usual scent, or the mucus isn't its usual color/texture -- you should get it checked out by your doctor, just to be safe.
