I don't believe we've met...I'm Pffff? The least talented runner here? Yeah, and I believe you're treading on my territory there....

With serious intensive training, i might might might be able to get to 18 minutes for a 5k, CoCr. And i have my doubts on whether or not that is possible. I'm either 6 years from that, and possibly another 6 away from that. You're beyond me in "talent".

You're definitely talented enough to be a kick ass coach. Time is definitely a factor for so many people. And then for newer runners like myself it's getting used to the pain. When you're racing, you have to get used to stepping beyond the comfort zone...way beyond it. That doesn't just develop over night. I always feel the h.s. and college runners have that over me.

No - I would not want to be a professional athlete for many of the same reasons listed by others. Too much pressure, making it a job, etc. However, I sure wouldn't mind having the abilityof an elite runner.

Hm...give me about ten years that I finish all schools and I'll think about that :D

I use my running as therapy and weight control. If I tried to be an elite it would get in the way of my beer drinking.
