I admit that I never thought a broken leg would bleed so much. A friend at the dojo I practice in fell awkwardly during training and broke his leg. Luckily, one of the present people knew about the immobilization for a transport so we took our friend to the hospital quickly. Good thing is, he is a calm patient so he will be back on his feet in no time.

There are many types of fractures and it is essential that each phase of taking care of the broken bone is done properly. And that starts with the immobilization. If not done as it should, it might even worsen the situation. But, since your friend will be ok in a short time, I guess everything was done right, which is a good thing.
