Hi, I need info about skin cancer. I have just returned from the doctor who has scheduled some diagnostic procedure that should take place in two days. And he also mentioned that I have nothing to worry about because it is only Clark level one. What does that mean? What is the importance of Clark level in melanoma diagnostic?

Clark levels are actually telling us at what is the progression stage of your tumor. When it is level one, then the melanoma is confined to the outer skin layer and had not spread any further, which is a good thing. There are 5 levels, with the fifth being the most dangerous one. This nomenclature is also related to the percentage of the survival rate f patients for the 5 years after the tumor removal, with the first level having the highest percentage, of course.
