I have had crps in my left upper quadrant for about 3 years after a fall shattering my elbow and post 5 surgical repairs. I recently went through a pain rehab clinic at Mayo clinic in Rochester, mn. They suggested I go off of my lyrica which I did over a three week period with very little increase in symptoms. Then I decided to taper off of my cymbalta and trazodone. I decreased the cymbalta from 60 mg to 0 mg over about 1.5 week again my symptoms were tolerable beside not sleeping. Then I decided to quit my trazodone. I was on 150 mg but had already reduced to 50mg per night for months. about 5 days after stopping the cymbalta, I stopped the trazodone. Three days later and my arm feels like it is freshly broken. I am in more pain (burning is increased but the horrible ache of a newly broken bone is the real problem) than I remember being in with it ever. Could this be withdrawl from the meds or where the meds actually much more effective than I thought? I hate to go back on them if this is only a temporary problem and will resolve after the withdrawl is over.
