I went for some blood tests last week and the lab found my CEA values to be increased. I know that this could potentially have something to do with cancer, and I am really scared now. Can someone with knowledge clarify what the meaning of increased CEA values is please? What could that be?

CEA stands for carcinoembryogenic antigen, these are tumor markers.but its not necessary that increase in the value of CEA mean that u have cancer.a personal experience i would like to share with you.A friend of mine had found that his CEA value was 407 ,he was so scared that thinking that he is suffering from cancer so we went to TATA MEMORIAL CANCER CENTRE(HOMI BHABHA) and performed all the tests that are done to detect cancer n it was really amazing to know that he didnt had cancer. If u still have doubt than go to TATA in parel and perform the tests.all the best
