This sounds like something I experience every now and then. Weird "rushing" sensation, nausea, very flush, dejavu of impending doom, then everything around me looks different but is exact the same or as if I'm seeing my surroundings for the first time. Sometimes I get an odd smell

The same exact thing happens to me all of the time, and I also feel stupid describing it.

I get this also. 55 yr old male. Is it the Deja Vu that causes the "attack" or is it the first signs of the "attack" which cause the Deja Vu? Its hard to tell. I have found a lot of relief with a chemical compound called H2O. Yes water. When your body is not properly hydrated the blood vessels in your head shrink and restrict blood (oxygen) to your brain. You feel like you need to pass out (or you do pass out) because it's your bodies way of putting your your head down low so your heart doesn't have to work as hard to get blood to your brain. I believe that the deja vu is a result of the lack of oxygen to your brain and it is the effect caused by that lack of oxygen that causes Deja Vu, NOT that the Deja Vu is the trigger that causes the dizziness. So follow me on this.....If you are not properly hydrated the blood vessels in your head shrink and restrict blood flow to your brain. When it gets to the point where your brain is deprived of enough oxygen it causes you experience this deja vu. Right after that you get very light headed and feel like you are going to pass out. In some cases you actually do. Then after the "attack" you think its the Deja vu which caused the light light headed and dizzy feeling. Try this. Drink 2 - 12 oz glasses of water in the morning as soon as you get up. Then drink one more around 11, one around 3:00 and one before and one with dinner. This should help a lot of people who suffer from this problem. If your like me you have a few seconds where you feel it coming on. Take a few real deep breaths and when possible sit or lay down on the floor. This should help keep you from passing out.

I don't want to freak anyone out, I know everyone is different and this does not mean you for sure have this BUT; for years I had weird feelings of deja vu.. at least that's all I could describe them as. I consider myself to be an eloquent person, but I could never properly describe these overwhelming feelings of deja vu. They started to become more and more frequent until one day I had a grand mal seizure. It turns out I had a brain tumor in my right temporal lobe. It's benign and I feel better than ever, I'm on anti seizure medicine and I hope these feelings never come back but if you have these intense feelings that you just can't quite describe- pay attention. Write them down when they happen, most people will have these "weird feelings" they try to brush off- and eventually their fears are confirmed when they have an actual grand mal seizure. I'm thankful I'm okay and there was a reason for my odd feelings but I wish I would have listened to my intuition sooner because I knew something was wrong.

Omg I experienced this for the first time today!! I've had about 5 episodes today so far an just waiting for the next one! Exactly the same symptoms with the reliving of dreams/deja vu an couldn't stop swallowing!! I went to the gp who sent me to the hospital for blood tests for cardiac related but all tests were fine incl. ecg, chest X-ray, urine an blood sugars. I have to go back tomorrow for a stress test but I really don't think it's cardiac. I will mention what I've read on here and see what they say and will go back to my gp with what I've found on here too. Thank you everyone, I felt like I was losing my mind!

I'm a 31 year old male , over my life I've had deja vu .. Perhaps more than most people . Here recently it is something different. It's hard to explain but it started as remembering a dream , more specifically a man in a dream... Everytime I focus on remembering this man or what was taking place I get an over whelming sensation that damn near makes me pass out. It's like I'm tapping into something I'm not supposed to ... I can control it for the most part.. It only occurs when I think of the specific man in the dream or what was taking place. when the over whelming sensation passes I'm fine.. It started two or three months ago... I don't understand why , I just thought maybe it was something my brain couldn't comprehend.. Past life etc... I have no idea who the man is by the way, and it seems like mornings are the worst... it's almost like my brain is trying to grasp reality when I wake up..

I'm 55 yrs old and had these same type of experiences for 25 years. I have not had an episode in more than 8 years by eliminating caffeine, limiting alcohol intake to no more than one drink per hour, and staying hydrated on hot days.

(24 y.o. male) I've had this exact set of symptoms for about 5 years. I've only lost consciousness 5 times, but I have these "auras" in patches quite frequently. Sometimes I'll go 6 months without one, but then have 15 in a week.

Long story short, I was put through the same battery of tests as many of you: tilt table, EEG, Cardiac/brain MRI. All were negative in the initial workup.

What I wanted to add to the discussion is that I had a cardiac monitor implanted in my chest 2 years ago, and (with perfect correlation) my "auras" correspond to cardiac pauses up to 12 seconds.

No one is sure what to make of this. There are a few documented cases in the medical literature of ictal asystole (asystole = lack of heart beat; ictal = because of a seizure), but this is thought to be extremely rare.

Very curious if anyone has been able to get more answers. Happy to answer any questions from my end.

Thank you. It sounds very similar to mymy episodes as well. I started on a low estrogen but around the same time I had a really bad kidney infection from EcolI. I had these episodes around the same time so I thought it was kidney related. I have been of the low dose estrogen for 3 weeks and have not had a period yet. I have not had one for 6 months. I'm only 42 but maybe I should get tested for menopause.

Holy sh*t this happens to me too. I'm a 22 year old female. It started more or less when I was 12. I fell and hit my head when I was like 9, so I thought it maybe had something to do with it.
