I have abnormal periods too, but that might be from the fact that I have recently gotten off birth control. A lot of women who get off birth control have irregular periods.
Some people can just get them irregularly, and some people (vegan especially) don't have periods at all all due to diet.
I would see an ob-gyn, or if you can not afford to make your way over to planned parenthood or some other community free clinic to ask them about what is happening.
Always use protection like a condom or birth control, or even better both.
