For the past several years, on a random occurance of once every 2 years, or once a year, and even twice one year, a small red rash would appear almost the same spot in my pubic area.
It would start like a small red patch and within 24 hours it would get to about 2 mm. It has never appeared on my penis or scrotum and is always about 3 mm above the shaft of my penis.
During the next 24 hours it would get more red and tiny blisters appear, about 6 or 8. It does not itch, hurt or burn.
The last time I had it I went to my MD and he ran a culture on it and it came back negative for herpes. I have had STD tests for everything out there and all negative.
It seems this rash appears when stress levels are high and my research on the Internet and the pictures shown do not really look like herpes.
My female partner does not have these rashes or symptoms.
Lastly my research shows it may be Tinea Cusis?
I would like to know what it is and what test I should ask my MD to do?
I understand there are many types of herpes and the last test was for about 9 of them.
When it happens I take Lysene tablets and use a lysene topical and it starts to fade and go away after about 3 days.
Any help is appreciated to figure out what it is and how to keep it from coming back.

You probably don't have herpes because the herpes bumps hurt and appear as blisters that ooze and then scab. Additionally, you've been tested and came out clear.
You should see a dermatologist during your next breakout and see what s/he will tell you.
