My ex boyfriend was an awful boyfriend and was psychologically abusive. But these are things I didn't realise until I had left him and moved back home. I was 18. But my question is there was one time we were laying in bed and I went to get out of bed but he was holding me in bed preventing me from getting up and when I broke free of him I left the room. But he came up beside me and picked me up off my feet and carried me back to bed where he dropped me on the bed and took my shorts off. I protested and fought at first saying that I didn't want to have sex today but he continued anyway and after awhile I gave up and laid there while he had sex with me and after he was done I got up to have my coffee I was originally going to have. Would you class this as rape? And what about the times he guilted me into having sex or woke me up and convinced me to have sex? Is that classed as a form of rape as well?

Hi Guest,

Yes you were raped when you told him you didn't want sex and he continued.

Guilted you into sex?  If you willingly had sex then it wouldn't be rape.  The same applies if he "convinced" you to have sex.  If you willingly participate it isn't sex - BUT if at any point you told him to STOP and he didn't, then it becomes rape.

Hope it helps.
