Masterbating at that young of an age means one of 2 or 3 things:
There was chaos in the home and that was your comfort mechanism
There was sexual abuse in the home
There was sexual content you were exposed to too early.
That applies to me too. I think I started when I was 6 and I didn't know why and was very embarassed about it...but now I understand it. why I did it, and it makes complete sense!

I am living in Japan, and the media here is very sexualized, so I learned about sex very early. I also started masterbating at around 5, mostly by just rubbing myself. That eventually led me to start exploring with my finger and small objects. A few years later, I got this novelty toy that was a vibrating ink pen.
