Misoprostol is not indicated for inducing periods. Its primary function is to prevent gastric ulcers but it is widely used in obstetrics and gynecology. Here are some of the uses of the drug:
Early abortion without the drug mifepristone within 9 weeks of pregnancy with 80% success rates: Inducing labors: Treating miscarriages or unsuccessful and incomplete abortions: Treating hemorrhage that occurred after delivery, etc
It is not used for inducing periods.
