I had my first IUD for 10 years and spotted a bit and that was it. I've never had an STD & been with the same gut for years. I had my IUD changed out about 6 months ago and have experienced everything on this post, the dryness before/during sex, an oder, itching and burning, using soaps and getting irritated, spotting & pinkish/yellowish spotting. This did not happen with my last IUD (I actually had it in for 12 years, the FDA is researching leaving it in longer and I had no issues with mine).

I asked my MD at Kaiser if the material had changed because I really liked my IUD and did not want a change. I was assured nothing has changed. I totally disagree. I will be having my IUD removed and will be discussing these issues with my MD.
