I am 60 yrs old, had leep procedure 12yrs ago. Have not been able to be sexually active since then. Life can suck sometimes, wish my gyro would have discussed this with me before hand . It should have been my choice, don't you think?

Be absolutely sure you need the procedure. I had the procedure and should have gotten a second opinion. I now have a scarred cervix and intercourse is painful. I was misdiagnosed to have HPB. This surgeon had a cruise to the Bahamas on her agenda. Get a second opinion..

I had the leep procedure done 4 months ago. Went in for a follow up today for another colposcopy and I was informed that my cervix is closed up due to scar tissue from the leep.

I had loop procedure done in 2015 not only did my cervix close over but the freezing didn't fully take and I felt the electrical zap on my cervix......NOT FUN!
Also not fun is when the ram something into the cervix to try and open it up which I have just found out on my last visit has closed yet again. Back in another 4 months. Being a woman sucks!

I had my LEEP procedure done in 2004 at the age of 25 after several abnormal Paps. My GYN advised that there were virtually no adverse side effects. In 2014, while reviewing my medical history, my new Ob/gyn advised that the industry is no longer advocating for LEEP procedures with a weird look on her face. Something tells me that medical professionals know something that we do not know about this invasive surgery. My advice, guard your cervix and go the holistic route unless your life depends upon it

I'm 66 years old. I had two leep procedures when I was younger but after child bearing age. I recently had an ultrasound because I was having some pain. The test showed a polyp in my uterus and my gyn wanted to remove it. She was unsuccessful because of scar tissue in my cervix prevented her from being able to pass the instruments through to the uterus. Although only 1% of these polyps are cancerous, she wants me to seek another opinion as to how to proceed. Wait and see if it dissipates or grows larger, move to the next step of removing my uterus? Good grief! And it's not even the cause of my pain.

I had the same things but I labored for 62 hours!!!! It was 30 hours before they were able to pop the scar tissue to get to dilate..... Did they ever tell you if you would have the same problem when you have another child?

I feel the problem started after the procedure. No one warned me of this. Has anyone else had this experience??

I had the procedure done December 1, 2016 and sex has not been the same since. I mean we already did not have much sex because of my boyfriends psychological issues since his brother's passing but the first few months I bled a little after sex. I have occasional (almost daily) discharge and it can get pretty smelly. Well I have trouble staying "wet" during sex and it can be a little painful for both of us and I really feel broken and I don't know if this is a side effect too because I never had the problem with staying wet during sex.
It's embarrassing and i just wish it could get better but I don't know why I'm having this problem.
