I had a LEEP done almost 3 years ago and have been battling with weight loss ever since, and an almost complete lack of my sex drive. Has anyone else experienced such long-term side effects? I am working out at the gym 4-5 days a week and run as well, but all I continue to do is gain weight. I put on over 20lbs almost immediately following the procedure even though my eating habits didn't change, and even today I eat better than I did 3 years ago! This is really beginning to effect me emotionally and physically. My husband and I want to start trying to get pregnant soon but I can't imagine adding pregnancy weight to the weight I have already put on. Is there any remedy that has worked for anyone??

I am going for a keep in five days and I'm afraid.. As many I had been reading have children. I don't have any children I and 30 years old, with none but I really treasure my life enough to say I need this done. They told me the side effects and what could happen, my gyn said it all depends in how deep they have to go to find the issue. I'm sorry everyone had an issue, but I'm adopted n I feel if I have to I will love to adopt. Even if it means to save my own life.. I can admit I'm scared but sometimes things need to be done to prevent the worst off.. I watch my grandmother pass due to ovarian cancer as well as finding her dead due to it so I will be ok by the grace of god..

I'm 33 years old with 3 children and just recently had a LEEP (10days ago). I found out this past April I had abnormal cells that tested back as CIII or severe. I was both scared and confused as to what this meant and worried that it had not been caught sooner. I'm training for a marathon an was worried about the time off and the extent of the procedure. I was able to run a 5km, with doctors approval, 3 days after and begin regular training after that completing a 36 km run 7days after. I did experience cramping and had a light head the first 2 days, and my heart felt like it was racing from the adrenaline shot for 48 hrs. The procedure itself was quick the worst part was the needle when they froze my cervix (awful!). I am happy I had it done an anxious for my next test, I had never had an abnormal pap in my life or tested positive for hpv so it all came as quite a shock, especially when I was told it was severe and I am married. My advice to every women is get your pap often and make sure the doctor is swabbing your cervix and not just your vaginal wall. It is easy to miss this if the pap is one wrong.

I had my leep procedure done last year and had a follow up 8 months later and was normal. Honestly I assumed the leep would be more painful than it actually was. I thought I would be in pain after the local anesthesia wore off but it didn't. Sometimes I still have cervical pain during intercourse but other then that I'm grateful I had the procedure done

Hi there!

Regarding the smell, I just wanted to let you know my doctor advised me this is normal. One thing the doc put in you after the procedure is some kind of liquid to help the area not bleed (I believe she said that is what it's for). Never the less, she told me I would probably have a foul smell for about two weeks and not to be alarmed, that it was normal of the solution she has to put it. Just wanted to let you know :)

i had it done 4 days ago. I am 61, but in great health. never been tired or run down. I cant get motivated, and NO energy. my friends think I am avoiding them, but too tired to be sociable right now. I think it is probably STRESS on our bodies. we have to remember that we just put our bodies through a procedure In a very sensitive area. ( at least that's what I am telling myself). they say 2 weeks for recovery. hopefully that means the mental and stress part also. good luck to you and may GOD be with you and your healing.

I had my LEEP done in July 2015. It went as well as one can expect. I stopped the nasty discharge after about 3 weeks. Followed the DRs ordes of no sex for 6 weeks after OP.Went back for Post-op check up only to find out i've scarred shut compleatly. I may never have another child or i could end up with endometriosis. My gyno doesn't want to open me back up down there til my nexplanon is done ( birthcontrol stick implanted under the skin on the inside of the arm by the armpit). So everyday til that day comes i deal with continuous pain from the wad of scar tissue pulling down on where the opening of my cervix should be. Half tempted to just have it all removed.

I had leep 5 years ago..I had cryo surgery 11 years before that..and I wish Instead of leep I had had cryo again. I have not been able to have sex since I had leep. It is too painful. My Doctor does not care but claims all went well..Nd i have since changed to a new Doc..he seems to think by exam that leep could have had something to do with it. Needless to say tnis has destroyed my marruiage and probably any hopes of a future relationship. I am even thinking of a malpractice suite at this point. If you are facing the choice between leep and cryo surgery..think real hard about it..take it from someone who knows and has had both..I would choose the cryo..I really miss sex and having N intimate connection with someone you love.

I am 60 yrs old, had leep procedure 12yrs ago. Have not been able to be sexually active since then. Life can suck sometimes, wish my gyro would have discussed this with me before hand . It should have been my choice, don't you think?
