Hi
For the last periods I have been experiencing very light bleeding in the morning 2-3 days before my actual period. It'll be pinkish on the tissue on my first morning urine and then nothing for the rest of the day. At first I thought it was spotting from implantation but my period comes pretty much on time. This has been happening for 3 months now. I have also notice I'm releasing more daily fluids and the smell is vinegary and fishy, which i never had before. There is no pain and everthing is normal for the rest of the month.
Can anyone throw some light to what this might be?
Many thanks!

Hi Mango,
I think you should visit your doctor. I am serious! I had similar problem... problem with ovaries and have to had an operation- it's no big deal- you are out of hospital in 3 days... it's not a serious operation... My intention is not scaring you... maybe you'll have to take some pills or sth - I just want to imply the seriousness of your problem.
I really think you should visit a doc, since woman's sexual organs are mostly not visible and only doctor can tell you what is really going on. We can just exchange experience, ... but this will not solve your problem.
Visiting a gyn is criucal!!!!
Hope, you'll be ok

Thanks for your reply Lucita.
You're right, I will go to visit the gynie. I was hoping that it will go away but having it checked out is the best. My period just came, so is it best to wait till next month when the bleeding starts to visit the gynie or can they still detect it anytime of the month? Was it a virus/infection you had? What did they do in your operation? I would love to hear more of your experience. This is so new to me that any info will be great to have.

Hey Mango,
It's best to visit doc when your period finishes and not while you're bleeding! Becouse while you're bleeding, your docotor won't be able to see what is going on in side you- so do the check up a few days after your period finishes. Anyhow doctor can detect anytime what is wrong, but by my opinion it much more hygienical to do it while not bleeding. Just explain him/ her the situation and after check up gynie will be able to tell what is going on with you.
I had a tumor on my left ovary- I did't know it until the first time I visited gynie- it didn't hurt me or anything, I just couldn't tell when exactly my period will come, but this is often the case with younger girls ... so I decided to visit a doc for preventive reasons and she discovered a tumor. I had to arrange a operation- it's called laparoscopia- a patient is full asleep, they make two little cuts above lumbar (soon after operation they are not visible) and they use camera, which they insert through your belly button. And then they make a movie of your ovaries ;-)
It's not as scarry as it sounds... while they are operating you are asleep and do not feel a thing...when I woke up I had a pain in my chest- it is becouse of anestesia. Doctors say this is very standard procedure and not complicated. When they were over with operatin they took the tumor to the histological control for cancer or sth similar. They say ovary tumor are rarely carcinogenic.. but you never know.
Ok, this is my experience and it's not necessary yours!!! I certainly don't want to scare you away. Don't be afraid- it better to do it now then have big complications in a few years! I am very glad you decided to visit gynie- you should do it at least once a year...like dentist :-) I know it is not pleasant experiance but it is cruical for your wellbeing.
If you have so more questions, do not hesitate to ask,

Hi Lucita
I visited my accupunturist yesterday and he thinks I have a cyst. I'm going in for an ultrsound this Friday once my period clears. Let see if he is right!

hey. for the past 2 months i havn't had an actual period. i am using the birth control yasmin but since the last 2 months i have been on holiday and moved house, due to this change i havn't been taking my pill correctly and have missed a few days here and there but hav still taken every pill just encase (i took 4 pills in 1 day as i had missed them and not been aware!) since the past 2 months i have had irregular spotting now and then usualy a light chocolate kind of colour, i noticed this as sometimes when i had intercorse with my partner i was left with this, but recently im just getting random spotting. ive been feeling nausus during evenings and morning, my breasts feel extreamly tender, my belly also feels slightly harder than usual and i have the most intense mood swings i have ever experienced! i went to the docs and got a pregnancy test but my results are still pending intill friday. im really worried that im ither pregnant and there could be something wrong, or i have miscarried. my doctor told me to stop taking my pill, but as i was bleading i thought there was no point as i didn't think i could be pregnant, but since looking at websites i now have a different view and im not sure what to do intill my results come back. can you wright back please, a peace of mind would help as i seem to be agravating my partner moaning all the time!

I was just reading up on other people's experiences with breakthrough bleeding. I have also experienced, after being on the try-cyclen for over a year, some bleeding the past few days. My actual period is due in a few days and the bleeding began before my placebo pills kick in. I haven't missed a pill this month and have had normal periods in the past. Just wondering if anyone could help me out as this is an entirely new problem for me... should I wait to see if my period comes like normal, and if it does should I still get a pregnancy test?

I am 18 years old and on the birth control ortho-tricyclen. I usually get my period on the exact day every month and I never spot. I have been having sex with my boyfriend and he hasn't been using a condom. This month I started getting spotting 5 days before my period, but I had my period on the regular day. I noticed that it was more heavy than normal. I'm not sure whats up.

I'm pretty sure yours is doing the same thing I just did.
I started spotting on the 23rd it was very light with alot of clots (compared to my usual period). I checked my cervix and felt that it was closed. I then began to panic thinking it was implantation bleeding. I called several pregnancy hotlines and they all said it was the same thing. I researched it pretty much all three days and from what i thought it was definately too light for my regular period but too heavy to be implantation. well it's 12:51 the morning of the 26th and I've started a full on period. My cervix is also open. So I'm sort of weirded out but relieved as well
