I had to stop taking this post seriously once i saw, " True happiness and complete freedom only comes from knowing the person of Jesus." Religion is the downfall of man, and has kept us in the dark for hundreds of years.

Thank you! Jesus Christ!? So incredibly off topic. People need an imaginary friend and a boogie man to find meaning in life. It's pathetic and breeds ignorance and hate.

Both of you "guests" you are on the wrong discussion board. This is for people that are struggling with or worried about long term affects of Adderall. This is not a place to judge or philosophize about anyone's religion. If Jesus or the Boogie man helps anyone on here then they are more than welcome to exist in those peoples lives. Any discouragement to those persons looking for help or answers on this site is extremely inappropriate, rude, and self centered...This thread does not exist to please your beliefs about religion. Please take it elsewhere.

you are 19...you should still be on your parents insurance..Seek therapy...longterm cognitive behavior therapy will not solve your problems but will help guide you to learning coping strategies to deal with your anger and "overlapping issues" you mentioned. DONT GIVE UP. I understand its frustrating and you feel confused and scared that you will be dependent on medication for the rest of your life. Try not to focus on negative feelings but look for any help, possibly support groups offering support for issues your are dealing with (anger, depression, anxiety ADD). You seem to be in touch with your feelings and that shows you are committed to self discovery, growing and making the necessary "adjustments" that are required in order to deal with some of your inbalances. No need for you to feel "pathetic,"...you sound like a very mature and "in-touch" young woman. I admire that you are doing research and reaching out to blogs such as this. Turn to professionals and find a new therapist. Medication is part of therapy but needs to be partnered with therapy. A behavioral therapist will meet with you as often as you need. You can seek out Support groups that are comprised of people who are experiencing the same feelings as you. People you can identify with that have been through what you are going through and are still going through the same.. Please dont give up...life is precious and if you feel good at times, that is just a taste of what life should be like. Medication is "man made," WE ARE "GOD MADE." You should put your mental health questions, concerns, fears in the hands of professionals who have been researching the science behind these medications for years as well as the behavioral science of people who suffer from ADD, depression, anxiety, anger, etc. You will be okay Lauren. You sound like a fighter and a young woman who cares about her well being. Find more hobbies, ways to relax, stress reliefs, be careful of caffeine intake or mind altering substances....protect your mind as it is fragile because you do have these neurological differences in your brain. With that being said, any extra drama that you can avoid such as boyfriend issues that can trigger and exacerbate your issues.

Isaac, I found your response to be quite helpful.. Thank you. Like so many people, I suffer also from ADD, depression, anxiety, anger. Its a life challenge, but one day at a time. I agree whole heartedly that walking helps relieve some anxiety as well as any physical exercise. Helping others is a huge benefit and boosts our self esteem. Writing helps release and process alot of confusing feelings. Counseling/ therapy and/or a support group is encouraging and helps get through times that we feel mixed up or our feelings seem to be taken control of our lives. Just remember, one day at a time....and take a couple of deep breaths and remind yourself, "this too shall pass."

Hey Lauren, I really felt your words, but have you tried to talk to you psychiatrist? have you asked them for help? or to prescribe you another medicine such as Vyvance? I'm not sure what would be the best option for your situation but I Believe if you told your psychiatrist the whole story you're saying here, they should be able to know what's the reason behind that, "if they are any good" is it really the medicine that causing these problems? or is it the clashing of thoughts regarding a lack of confidence or support from ppl around you, or maybe the less important vitamins you're having from your food...?

Hi,
i started taking adderall daily over a year ago. i got my firstjob and it was night shift. i only take 25mg a day, sometimes more, but i know i have a problem. i can't work without it. i don't need it on my days off but now i work 6pm to 6am and i feel like i need it just to make it through the night. i know i need to stop taking it, but I'm scared to. i am on a 90 day probation period and i think if i stop taking it i willstart missing work. i don't know what to do. someone help me. I'm scared to talk to anyone about it because i think they will think very low of me. i don't eat and only sleep about 4-6 hours for almost two days then i have 2 day off from work (and the adderall) and all i do is sleep and eat. I know it will lead to bigger problems then just feeling weak and tired all the time. i have no social life and never want to do anything unless i takethe pill. i work really hard and good when i take it but when i don't i don't want to work and feel tired all the time. I'm only 19 and know i have potential to do great things but i know i don't need adderall to get through life. I'm at the point where i feel numb and have no feelings. i don't care about anything and just live day to day. i need to clean up and get (and stay) sober but i don't know how. someone please give me some advice. i don't want to live a short life but i feel like that's the road I'm headed down.

I'm adding to my post above... i forgot to add that i am NOT prescribed to anything, i have to buy the adderall from people who are prescribed. but i think i have the symptoms of ADD, OCD, maybe even depression, have considered going to the doctor but I'm scared they will think I'm lying or faking the symptoms. Is that just a side effect, thinking i have something i don't? it really sucks living life in a blur and feeling this way. But i feel better knowing I'm not alone. and i get really stingy with my pills, i hate giving them away fearing i will run out and not have one some day.

Hi Lauren
It is not too late for you. Please research the drug and what is in it. I am doing this now as my grandboys are on this drug also. There are herbal alternatives that can be used that will not hurt you. Since I am researching this also and cant really tell you the steps that you need to take, I suggest that you go to your local health food store and they can recommend a natural path or herbalist...also you will want to detox and be sure that you are drinking plenty of good water. To calm your brain you can try meditation or talking to the Creator. This will calm your mental stress. Things like yoga, stretching, music, are good for you..Please don't given it is not too late to get better.

Hello,

Im 17 years old been taking Adderall for 10 years on a daily use of 30mg (Not taking it on weekends) and the long term effects started to happen to me. First of all I've done reserch since I have a psychiatrist on my family. Well for the last couple of months I've experienced tachytardia faster heartbeat almost all the side effects and now im changing prespcription, this becouse starting on a new drug helps you becouse it lowers the side effects you feel. For noticing if you have long term side effects this can include: tachycardia, faster heart beat, blurred vision occasionaly, mood swings, after the dosage has worn off oyu get angry by any type of reason, ect... (Remember everyone can experience different types of symptons, worse or better than other people) Those are the most commons done in a research I made on teens with my uncle. Any questions about Adderall just post here or email me privately and I would be glad to answer. (If you feel any worsening symptom make a list of how many times a day does it occured, does it get worst, does it comeback or just happens once and for how long have this symptoms have been occuring, make and appointment with you're psychiatrist and explain to him the list and he will help you with this symptons that dont go away) Taking Adderall early in the day and later on nigth lets say, "You took it at 8:00 am and then took it at 9:00 or 8:00 pm if you take it on a daily basis a HIGH DOSAGE do not take Adderall again at nigth, because you will experience a type of OVERDOSE that you will feel almost some side-effects like 100% STRONGER" (Study done from 8/21/12-9/25/12 on 2 High Shool teens, and 3 College students) This study I made showed that High School sudents almost uses it on a 1 a day basis, but the College student when he had and exam or something that caused him stress or anxiety whill take a HIGH DOSE of Adderall 1 in the morning as usual and 1 after 6-8 and this made them had STRONGER side-effects.

Have a nice day!
