I have recently been for x-rays in relation to a lump on my sacroiliac joint, which I am sure is also causing me to walk incorrectly and has been the source of a lot of my back pain. The doctor were unable to diagnose me on the basis of the x-rays, which makes me desperate! What should I do now?

Wow, that myst be so frustrating! I am sorry to say that I have no real advice for you but I can tell you that I would be discussing a biopsy of the lump at this point. I mean, is that not the logical next step if x-rays are not conclusive? With a biopsy, you will know for sure what you have!
