That’s right Lung fusion is new imaging test which goal is to find cancer cells in the body in their early stages. In fact its performance is based on two technologies CT and PET and in fact lung fusion is called CT/PET fusion imaging. The lung fusion is about “fused” results of these technologies in diagnosing lung cancer meaning that these results are brought together in order to provide more effective info in diagnosing some types of lung cancer. Anyway CT is computed tomography that provides cross-sectional body images by using computer while PET is positive emission tomography meaning that PAT scan is used to inject some kind of a medicine that runs through the body in order to detect cancer cells. So when results of these two technologies are fused it is possible to get more concrete info about lung cancer.
