Hi, 4 years ago, after the childbirth I have diagnosed SLE. Now I am planning second child but I am afraid how my disease will affect on my pregnancy, my unborn child? Do I need to discontinue with treatment? Does pregnancy will flare symptoms of my SLE? Anybody, please, help me… advices, experiences?

First, it will depend of severity of your SLE. You should consult your doctor but small percent pregnant woman with lupus will have an improvement during pregnancy. During the first and second trimester flares can be more often, and immediately after delivery. Common symptoms of flares are fatigue, arthritis and skin rashes. Most medications taken for SLE are safe to use during pregnancy.
