I walked off some scaffolding in the early 90,s and ended up taking methadone after taking every drug up to that. It isn't working like it did and I tried morphine and other drugs to help eliviate the pain. Its like since I've taken the meth nothing else works or helps. My dr. has really worked with me when I ask to try   other things.  My question is my pain can,t be helped with surgery. Its in my lower back, I have arthitis and some disc problems is there something that my dr. is missing per pain control? I take 10 mg. ten times a day. For many years now. Can you help?  I don't take more than I should it is just not doing the job.   Thank you.

I have the same problems and went thru the medications as you with little relieve. My dr. precribed Fentanyl. It is a very strong pain medication BUT it had a noticable change in my behavior, so if you ask for a precription be aware of possible effects it may have on your behavoir and personality. Make sure your doctor knows ALL your health problems as this medication can be very dangerous. For me it worked but the side effects were just to much for me to continue taking it. I am know back on extra srength Vicodin 10mg, six times a day. It takes off the edge and that's about it. I hope this helps, good luck to you.  Gary S.
