I have suffered from pancreatic cystic fibrosis my entire life. For the last ten years I have maintained the same prescribed level of fentanyl for what amounts to the current world record measure in an endosecretin test. Taking higher dosage of fentanyl is out of the question, but I chose to control my pain for about 20 days of a prescription period and suffer the remaining ten til my next script. I am contemplating augmenting my pain management with oral medical pot. I know that opioids, save meperidine cause problems with the bliary tract. Opioids cause spasms of the sphincter of odi and increase serum levels of amalyse in the pancreas. Still, it is the best game in town. I have the self control to keep with a minimum amount of drugs, especially a dissociative like pot. I really don't like the feeling of being intoxicated on it. I am now in my 60's and in five or six years, I may lose access to my compounded oral fentanyl prescription. Medicare won't pay for it and no suplimental insurance I have found covers any compounded medication, especially something as absurdly expensive as fentanyl.

I have studied everything I can find on canabanoids, but with the plant having at least 129 more canabanoids than the body manufactures and uses for our own metabolism, I am out of my element. I would like any substantive information that would enlighten me as to whether it would have any effacy or on the other hand, possibly make things worse. With CF, it would have to be taken orally in my case and though I know oral canabanoids precipitate a long half life, it would be much better to have long effects that are not making things worse at best and hopefully best at worst.

Thanks in advance for any information
