I'm 12 and everyday white sticky stuff comes out of my vagina. I haven't got my period yet but for a few days now I've been getting period pains. Is it mucus coming out of my vagina? Can I stop it? What should I do?

Hi hon! It's called Discharge, and this means that you are Ovulating! So your period should happen soon. This will hapen every month. So be prepared OK? That means carrying around some pads - JUST incase your period starts while you are at school etc. If you are prepared and always carry around pads that come in wrappers - so you can keep them in your purse! then you will NEVER have embarrassing accidents like SO many of us have had! And also know that when you start your period, it CAN be a little wonky at first! You might get it, then don't, you might be bleeding heavily then the next month slightly OK?! Good luck and health honey!

Hi Talia. your body is getting ready to have a period. Discharge at this point is normal and nothing to worry about.
You can always wear a panty liner each day if the discharge bothers you. It's also a good idea to carry a pad or a tampon in your purse and keep one in your locker at school. 2 Tylenol will help with the cramps. You can't stop it, mother nature is tough. Just keep up on your showers and make sure you change your liner a few times thru out the day. You'll be fine, trust me, ok? ;-)

P.S. I love your name :-D

If it doesn't smell bad and if you aren't itchy at all then it is probably just normal discharge.
